F I O R I W A R E was established in the tradition

| Fioriware is handcrafted by artisans in a studio environment. The methods used to
fashion clay into colorful and useful tabletop wares are chosen for their integrity of
workmanship and intrinsic beauty rather than productivity. In a manner of speaking, the
studio is a living museum employing traditional 19th Century skills. Each artisan
contributes their skilled hand and eye to weave together beautiful designs and functional
shapes with quality craftsmanship. Forming Fioriware Art Pottery requires a labor
intensive process of clay making, forming, finishing, bisque-firing, prepping, waxing,
glazing, decorating, masking, wiping, stamping, glaze-firing, buffing and final
inspection. In all, it takes 24 steps to create each piece of pottery. The process of hand
making ceramic products creates subtle variations, which add character and charm. |

Our
journey started 20 years ago, and involves two partners, Maddy Fraioli and Howard Peller,
who shared a common vision to create functional and beautiful pottery. This idea was a
seed, which was planted in the rich clay soils of Southern Ohio. This region is the 19th
and 20th century historic center of American Art Pottery. It was the birthplace of such
notable potters as Weller, Roseville, American Encaustic Tile, Mosaic Tile, Hull, McCoy,
Shawnee and Brush. Fioriware designs are inspired by these vintage classic products made
in our region. Our vision is to create pottery, which will likewise become an American
Classic. The combination of artistic inspiration from the past with a new design vision
for the future is what makes Fioriware so unique and sought after by our patrons. |
| Fioriware pottery is made from
quality and food safe materials. The serviceability of our products allow them to be
enjoyed and used everyday. The combination of a stoneware clay body along with a high
fired glaze allows for the ware to be dishwasher safe, chip resistant and food safe.
Fioriware tabletop products are designed to be fun and easy to use providing for many
years of service. |

| Fioriware is a small group of dedicated artisans creating beautiful things with enduring
qualities. There is a spirit to our work, a vision of old with new. We recognize the need
for well crafted, artistic, and useful things, which are a part of the tradition of
enjoying family, friends, and home. Our products are made in the tradition of the American
Arts and Crafts Movement. Fioriware pottery is a celebration of the human hand, heart and
eye. Fioriware is making today what will become the things people in the future will
admire and collect as remnants of a past skill and artistic spirit. |
